A New Magellan GPS On the Market

New Magellan GPS 2010

Fancy getting a new GPS navigation system? That shouldn’t be too much of a problem with Magellan’s latest RoadMate 3065 GPS navigation system that has just arrived in the US. After all, you can never tell when you might be traveling out of state to an unfamiliar place on a work assignment or not, and a GPS navigation would certainly come in handy. The new school year (Stateside anyways) will also see parents ushering their offspring to new alma maters, and even that might turn into an ugly situation if paper maps don’t quite make the cut. Basically, the Magellan RoadMate 3065 GPS device is here to help you make the most of your travels, where you save plenty of time getting to your destination instead of figuring out the right turn.

The Magellan RoadMate 3065 GPS device is basically a premium 4.7-inch navigator that comes chock full with features, making it the ideal device for students. We all know how most students love to flout the law once in a while, and talking on the phone without a hands-free kit while driving is not a very bright idea as it could probably help you end up with a ticket (and a very angry parent). After all, the RoadMate 3065 sports Bluetooth connectivity for all those hands-free needs, alongside built-in AAA Member Roadside Assistance for safety. Not only that, you need not fret about worrying about the crazy morning traffic, since each purchase will come with a free Lifetime Traffic that delivers real-time traffic information. As for the unique Traffic Wake-up function, it ensures that the device itself would go about downloading all the relevant information as and when you require it. This would definitely help you avoid traffic jams, detours and construction zones, perfect especially when you’re already running late for your meeting during those rush hour mornings. Expect the Magellan RoadMate 3065 GPS device to retail for $169.99 when it arrives.

Canon Selphy CP800

It’s right around that time of year when we start upgrading or buying technology to get ready for back to school, and photo printers are a definite must have. When you talk about consumer class printers, one of the names that is surely high up on anyone’s rating list would be Canon, as it mixes with the best to say the least. Well, the company has just another compact photo printer ready to rock and roll – we’re talking about the Canon Selphy CP800 that will come with a new tilt LCD display apart from the innovative and fun Shuffle feature which will go some way in enhancing its ease-of-use and functionality. This will succeed where the hugely successful Canon Selphy CP780 Compact Photo Printer left off, delivering an innovative design that enables consumers to enjoy the flexibility and convenience of printing high-quality photos from just about anywhere without the need to wait in line at busy kiosks at retail locations.

The size and portability of the Canon SELPHY CP800 Compact Photo Printer will definitely surprise you where it allows you to produce instant keepsake photos from almost anywhere. A good place to use it would be at wedding receptions, where you can always print out snapshots on the spot for your guests to bring home as a memento, although the environmental impact of this act might turn away from Greenpeace activists, what with the amount of ink used when a digital photo for them as a keepsake is more than enough.

Cydle Launches First Portable GPS with HD Radio with the Cydle T43H

Cydle T43H

CES 2010 is the launch pad for many companies where new products are concerned, and Cydle isn’t going to miss out on the party next January by offering to unveil the first portable GPS with built-in HD Radio and free HD live traffic updates in the world. The Korea-based company hopes that their portable GPS system will turn any vehicle into a haven, even if it is a bone shaker, offering the driver with various options to get to their destination accurately within the routes selected, or keeping the kids in the back seat entertained while one’s family is on a long road trip in order to avoid the dreaded repetitious question, “Are we there yet?” New technology employed includes GPS with HD Traffic Update, where one is able to receive Live Traffic updates up to 10 times faster compared to its competitors. The new T43H from Cydle will feature integrated HD Radio, where one will receive free HD Traffic. Inside the T43H will also feature both internal and external antennas, where they will refresh automatically to include the most up-to-date information concerning accidents, traffic speed and road construction areas.

All you need to do when behind the wheel is to key in the destination and receive real-time alerts as they go, but do use some common sense as well since it has been proven that not all GPS maps have been updated to reflect real world conditions. Other features of the T43H goes include a high-resolution 4.3″ screen, audio and video playback alongside support for a wide variety of multimedia file formats. You can also use this to flick through photos of your favorite memories, although we would recommend you keep your eyes on the road instead. Retailing for $299 a pop, there won’t be any hidden costs or subscription fees attached to the Cydle T43H. No idea on when the exact release date would be alongside the markets it will be rolled out in, but more than likely more light will be shed when CES 2010 rolls around.

The Humble Doormat Scale May Have You Eating Humble Pie After the Holidays

humbe doormat scale

Furnishing a new home can be quite the adventure, and depending on which point of view you are coming from, it could be either a positive or negative experience. Most ladies would bemoan the fact that their men seem less than interested in how the house is filled up, from its choice of colors to fittings and furniture, while others gush on how their men take the lead in such matters. While we can talk about different styles and methods of getting a house home-ready, there is one essential accessory that you must not miss out on – the humble doormat, particularly now that the holidays are over, and it’s the last thing you WANT to look at, but the first thing you should. The front door of your home is the gateway to the outside world, and every single day there ought to be at least one person going in and out. How else are you going to remove all those dirt trapped under your shoes? The answer lies in the humble doormat, and this humble Doormat Scale does exactly as it says – it helps prevent additional dirt from making their way around your home, and even more so will give a glimpse on how much you weigh at the moment.

Perfect for you to find out just how heavy your guests are if you’re hosting a party, although this move might embarrass said guests who are wearing a dress one size too small for their weight range. Functioning like any other standard bathroom scale, this Doormat Scale will display one’s weight in kilos, so folks who aren’t too used to the metric system might want to give this a pass since there is no lbs equivalent, and the number of kilos is always much, much smaller. On the other hand, it makes for a great doormat, since it’s covered in coconut fiber which does extremely well in trapping and hiding a huge amount of dirt. As the back of the mat is made of latex, the doormat will boast anti-slip properties. It is a mechanical scale that will run perpetually forever since there is no need for any batteries, just make sure you don’t go above the 160kg mark and you’ll give new meaning to the term ‘tipping scales’.
