If you have been praying for the type of gadget that will capture high definition video images while you are both underwater and on the move, then the photo gods have been listening and are offering you a pocket size rechargeable HD video cam that will make you smile for more reasons than one. There is nothing quite like making sure all the important moments in life are documented, which is where a reliable camcorder comes in (unless you have an impeccable memory, of course). Some may consider the Kodak PlaySport HD Waterproof Pocket Video Camera a wee bit expensive at $129, but this is no ordinary camcorder, not when it can fit into your pocket easily while offering full HD video capability. Not only that, you can bring this out on your outdoor trips since it is waterproof up to 3 meters, now how about that! Not only does it record video, it can also shoot 16:9 widescreen stills at 5-megapixels, where you can also get up close and personal with your subject through a 4x digital zoom.
Once you’re done with your video recording, just plug it in using its USB connector and you’re good to go. All movies can be previewed through its 2″ LCD display, and it even does slow motion playback to boot. Apart from that, you can have hours of recording thanks to its SDHC memory card slots. But it’s not all about catching those cute little fishies under water, this camera is touted as being extremely user friendly, and ideal for any outdoor picture taking. You will love the ergonomically designed tactile rubber casing that will withstand just about any bump, scrape, dropp, or nudge. And you’ll never have to stress about blurry scenes either, because it also offers you auto image stabilization with every shot no matter how fast your adrenaline is pumping. CES 2010 is the launch pad for many companies where new products are concerned, and Cydle isn’t going to miss out on the party next January by offering to unveil the first portable GPS with built-in HD Radio and free HD live traffic updates in the world. The Korea-based company hopes that their portable GPS system will turn any vehicle into a haven, even if it is a bone shaker, offering the driver with various options to get to their destination accurately within the routes selected, or keeping the kids in the back seat entertained while one’s family is on a long road trip in order to avoid the dreaded repetitious question, “Are we there yet?” New technology employed includes GPS with HD Traffic Update, where one is able to receive Live Traffic updates up to 10 times faster compared to its competitors. The new T43H from Cydle will feature integrated HD Radio, where one will receive free HD Traffic. Inside the T43H will also feature both internal and external antennas, where they will refresh automatically to include the most up-to-date information concerning accidents, traffic speed and road construction areas.
All you need to do when behind the wheel is to key in the destination and receive real-time alerts as they go, but do use some common sense as well since it has been proven that not all GPS maps have been updated to reflect real world conditions. Other features of the T43H goes include a high-resolution 4.3″ screen, audio and video playback alongside support for a wide variety of multimedia file formats. You can also use this to flick through photos of your favorite memories, although we would recommend you keep your eyes on the road instead. Retailing for $299 a pop, there won’t be any hidden costs or subscription fees attached to the Cydle T43H. No idea on when the exact release date would be alongside the markets it will be rolled out in, but more than likely more light will be shed when CES 2010 rolls around.

Furnishing a new home can be quite the adventure, and depending on which point of view you are coming from, it could be either a positive or negative experience. Most ladies would bemoan the fact that their men seem less than interested in how the house is filled up, from its choice of colors to fittings and furniture, while others gush on how their men take the lead in such matters. While we can talk about different styles and methods of getting a house home-ready, there is one essential accessory that you must not miss out on – the humble doormat, particularly now that the holidays are over, and it’s the last thing you WANT to look at, but the first thing you should. The front door of your home is the gateway to the outside world, and every single day there ought to be at least one person going in and out. How else are you going to remove all those dirt trapped under your shoes? The answer lies in the humble doormat, and this humble Doormat Scale does exactly as it says – it helps prevent additional dirt from making their way around your home, and even more so will give a glimpse on how much you weigh at the moment.
Perfect for you to find out just how heavy your guests are if you’re hosting a party, although this move might embarrass said guests who are wearing a dress one size too small for their weight range. Functioning like any other standard bathroom scale, this Doormat Scale will display one’s weight in kilos, so folks who aren’t too used to the metric system might want to give this a pass since there is no lbs equivalent, and the number of kilos is always much, much smaller. On the other hand, it makes for a great doormat, since it’s covered in coconut fiber which does extremely well in trapping and hiding a huge amount of dirt. As the back of the mat is made of latex, the doormat will boast anti-slip properties. It is a mechanical scale that will run perpetually forever since there is no need for any batteries, just make sure you don’t go above the 160kg mark and you’ll give new meaning to the term ‘tipping scales’.
Well, I suppose it was about time that someone made a shoe with GPS and Bluetooth compatibility. Is anyone else as surprised as me that it wasn’t Nike? No, the Isaac Daniel Compass and Blue GPS shoes are most likely a first for the shoe industry, and I’m certain they won’t be the only company with a Blue GPS shoe after a while. Now, you may ask yourself: why would I want a shoe that is Bluetooth and GPS enabled? Well, if that shoe is linked to your phone via Bluetooth, it can use its GPS functionality to let everyone know where you are. That is, if you are willing to let your friends track you online.
I suppose you could use these shoes to track people who tend to wander out of their safe zones, like the elderly or small children (assuming their little feet would fit in these shoes). In all honesty, how many of us are really famous enough to have anyone want to track us by our longitude and latitude? I’m guessing the people who are famous enough to have anyone care about their every movement probably have their own paparazzi following them around anyway. In that case, they probably wouldn’t want their movements to be tracked. Ah, don’t you just love the society we live in?
Sticking to a diet is never a simple task, you end up having to jump through a bunch of hoops just to keep yourself on track. Then on top of it, you have to keep yourself motivated enough to care. Well this Wifi Scale could be the visual motivation you need to keep eating right. Instead of just weighing yourself and scowling over the numbers, you can discover if you’ve gone up or down over time. You can even keep an eye on the ups and downs when you’re away from the scale itself. How do you do this, you ask? This very thin and chic looking scale links up with your iPhone to help you keep an eye on things.
Through your iPhone you can view a graph that shows whether you have gone up or down, which might be just enough to keep you from ordering what you shouldn’t on your lunch break. The numbers over time can be compared to references created by nutrition doctors. It sends all of this information automatically, when you step on the scale.
For those of you that are into the whole flight simulation thing, you will enjoy what Electronic Sports has just rolled out. Here you have one of the coolest full featured Flight Simulators that has been developed to not only keep your reflexes sharp and alert, but also tones up your body with its interfaced and high end exercise bike. With this simulator, you will be able to propel the plane forward simply by pedaling, and the more furious you go at it, the faster you will break the sound barrier.
It is controlled via a joystick as well as spring loaded handles for a realistic simulation exercise. And this simulator makes it nice to see that graphical technology has advanced to such a state that you no longer need to rely on your imagination too much since these pixelized images look like the real thing. The Dog Fight from Electronic Sports is a much more engaging means of staying fit at home, and it will be so much more fun to exercise while you gun down enemy bogeys to save your country while at the same time keeping your cardiovascular system hot and heavy.
For those active adventurous type, you may have had the odd moment when some of your activities do not permit the use of your favourite tunes device when you are working out. If you enjoy watersports, swimming, or anything that requires underwater submerging, until now you have had to enjoy them sans music with nothing but the hum of your own thought processes to keep you going. Well know, the H2O Audio system can give you some relief from that as it is an entire system that allows you to take your favourite digital player under the water. The device comes with a set of speakers, as well as a waterproof case that will fit your iPod and keep it safe from water damage. And the beauty of it is that it works with every iPod model, old or new. It can go as far as 300 feet underwater, and the speakers are designed to be tucked underneath a dive hood or a mask strap. And for those of that that have always wanted to watch movies underwater, the case has a screen that will enable you to do so. I’m trying to remember the last time I worried about that, but hey, there must be somewhere out there that does to make room for this feature.

I saw this in Men’s Health magazine, the Bowflex Revolution, it is pretty cool looking. Of course you have seen the commercials or at least the Soloflex commercials. If you haven’t you either don’t own a T.V. (not that that is a bad thing!) or you haven’t learned the joys of infomercials. The now famous company claim is “Workout for 20 minutes a day, 3 days a week for results in 6 weeks guaranteed”. Read more here.
