Nope. The Sony Walkman is FAR From Obsolete.
Well, the kind with the fuzzy headphones and the clunky tape deck, yes, that one has been off the shelves for a while now. However, in light of technology brands doing everything they can to stay on top of the game, smaller and more superior gadgets seem to be hitting the shelves every single day. With iPod being the name central when it comes to music, Sony and their Sony Walkman have had to do some work to stay ahead of the game, or at least to keep up. And by the looks of it, Sony is not giving up the fight against iPod when it comes to portable music. Their latest gimmick is to revive the Walkman brand and coming up with not only funky, but functional MP3 players in their latest line of releases. Their most recent versions are the S, E, and B series that offers something for everyone regardless of what your budget or taste is. Leading the pack is the S Series.
The S Series will be your top of the line Sony Walkman, and you can download tunes, add to your personal collections, drag and drop files into your player, watch videos, podcasts, and build playlists. These babies also have a SensMe Channel built in that will create your own custom channels aligned with your specific preferences. The SensMe features will analyze your collection, and suggest channels for you based on your collections rhythm, mood, and speed. When it comes to Sony Walkmans, the S series is the daddy player of them all. As you can imagine, the E and B series will allow for less features, but more affordability. Overall, the price ranges are in the $45 to $180 mark, which is pretty good when you compare them to the archrivals of iPod.
