When your thinking about electronic gifts you need to also think about the effect they may have on the enviroment. Here are a few reminders to think about when you are trying to go green.
First of all, always try to purchase electronics that include enviromentally friendly rechargeable batteries and even better there are more and more solar powered electronics becoming available. Secondly, purchase from companies that are manufacturing products with the enviroment in mind. How do you know which companies are doin this? Look for green-specs.
Next look for products that use less energy and have longer extended product life. For example buy a cheap ipod or mp3 player instead of a cd player because you will be helping the enviroment by not having to purchase cd’s that use energy and natural resources to create. Also Apple is a very eco-friendly company as well. Purchase LCD HDTV’s instead of the large big screen televisions to cut energy use and they last longer as well.
