Vudu Online HD Movie Downloading - Competition for Blue-Ray and HD DVD?

Vudu utilizes the broadband internet that we are all paying for and brings downloadable movies to your HD TV. Vudu offers instant access to about 5000 movies. There is no activation fee and no subscription fees. You can rent a movie from $.99 to $3.99 or purchase movies from $4.99-$19.99. Vudu offers downloadable video resolution up to 1080i, but not 1080p (hardware is capable of 1080p/24) at this point.

I think Vudu is definitely heading the right way with downloadable movies, but may take some time for everyone to move that direction. Vudu will be giving Vudu owners copies of The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy pre-loaded in HD.
