Remote Control for Microsoft SideShow Windows Media Center

ricavision_sideshow_remote.jpgUp until now I haven’t had much reason to play around with Microsoft Vista SideShow. Frankly I haven’t had much use for media center for that matter.  That all changed on Monday when RICAVISION announced a new remote control module for their SideShow remote [click the image to enlarge]. With this new feature you can be sitting across the room — or thanks to it also being BlueTooth capable, in an entirely different room — and read RSS and or email through Vista while watching TV during commercials. What’s that? You could do that with your laptop? Yeah sure but we’re talking about having that functionality in the greatest man’s greatest invention since the television. The remote!

The module will allow you to have better insight into all the photos, videos, or music you’re trying to control in the new Media Center interface right there on your remote. TheBleTooth operating range is about 100 meters and it also suppors IR operation as well. Check out RICAVISION’s site for more details. The remote is set to be available in April with an MSRP of $199… is it me or does it seem everything these days is priced at $199?
