Pen Drive Linux

pclinux1.jpgCool linux distro that allows you to boot and run Linux from a USB flash drive. How cool is that? You’re traveling on your laptop and feel like switching over to Linux for command line fun or just because you miss your cool Linux desktop. You reach in your pocket and whip out your pre-loaded USB flashdrive with PenDriveLinux installed and boot from that drive. Or maybe you’re in a place far from home surrounded by strange PCs. No problem. Bust out your USB drive, plug into one of those PCs, and load Linux with all your settings favorites and tweaks all there waiting for you.

They warn on their website that your PC must be able to boot from a USB drive though. And they’re right. You’d think “how hard could it be to make my system boot from the USB drive”. Or any drive for that matter right? Wrong. Even though you can theoretically configure your system to boot from any drive you have to remember this is a USB drive so you’ll have to ensure your system is able to load the proper drivers and boot through that USB port. Not to worry though they have plenty of well written tutorials to steer you in the right direction.
